Low - Voltage switchgear and controlgear proximity switches-IS/IEC 60947-5-2 : 2007

Ultrasonic proximity switches detect the presence of sound-reflecting items, photoelectric proximity switches detect the presence of things, and non-mechanical magnetic proximity switches detect the presence of objects using a magnetic field.

These proximity switches are self-contained, include semiconductor switching components, and are designed to be connected to circuits with a maximum rated voltage of 250 V 50 Hz/60 Hz a.c. or 300 V d.c. Proximity switches with analogue outputs are not covered by this Standard. The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has required LOW - VOLTAGE SWITCHGEAR AND CONTROLGEAR PROXIMITY SWITCHES to be registered as per IS/IEC 60947: PART 5: SEC 2: 2007under Compulsory Registration Scheme from BIS. Neither you can export nor import these proximity switches without the BIS registration.
