BIS CERTIFICATION OF STEEL PRODUCT (FERRONICKEL)

To get BIS certification and produce a standard quality product, the manufacturer must ensure that their product must follow the specified Indian standard. This standard specifies the requirements for ferronickel used in the iron and steel industry. The ferronickel shall be of the seven grades as specified in the standard.

Manufacturers must obtain a BIS license from the Bureau of Indian Standards to use a standard mark (ISI Mark). The Bureau grants a license based on a successful assessment of manufacturing infrastructure, production process, and quality control and testing capabilities during a visit to its manufacturing premises.

The BIS under the pursuance to the gazette notification of the Steel and Steel Products (Quality Control) order 2020 S.O. 4637 (E) dated 22 December, 2020 and subsequent order dated 26 October 2021 has announced that their date of enforcement will be extended by 6 Months.
